The Story

Global Outreach Day: A Sign of the Soon Return of Christ

“And this Gospel of the Kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations, and then shall the end come”. Mat. 24: 14 KJV.

When I heard the promotion “One, Day: May 28th, One World: 200 nations and One Message: Jesus Christ” said Pastor Felix Arias in Bavaro, Dominican Republic, I told to myself this is the God´s movement for the last harvest before the return of Jesus Christ, because the Word says “And this Gospel of the Kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations, and then shall the end come”. So I have to involve my local church and all other churches I can to participate in the G.O.D. and keep an ongoing evangelistic and discipleship program in my local church because the end is near. Since the G.O.D. in 2014 in Dominican Republic, Pastor Felix of the Church “Christ for the Nations” in Bavaro, Punta Cana, at the eastern side of the country is the one who does more activities in the G.O.D and also works on the baptism journey.

By the end of November 2015, the G.O.D. version for 2016 were presented to the churches of Dominican Republic in an act of covenand signing of a national agenda of evangelism between five organizations committed to reach out the nations with the Gospel of Christ. The Organizations are: Bible League DR, with Daniel Oscar on its head, as G.O.D. liaison in Dominican Republic, CODUE a council of churches and evangelical organizations in the DR, represented by Fidel Lorenzo; Unidos por La Nacion, a national evangelistic ministry represented by Javier Paulino and Youth with a Mission with Omayra Alvarez, as National Director. The Agenda does not include only the G.O.D. but also a baptism journey for October 29 to 31.

For this 2016 version of the G.O.D in Dominican Republic we had 20 coordinators on the field promoting the G.O.D. in 20 provinces of the 33 we have nationally. Dominican Republic is divided into 33 provinces and 157 municipalities; our goal for next year is to complete the list of G.O.D´s coordinators for the 13 remaining provinces and they have to help recruiting contacts for the 157 municipalities.

But also we contacted representatives’ leaders of main denominations representing around 80% of the protestant and evangelical churches in the country. Those are: Elvis Samuel Medina, Church of God; Flavio Rosario, Church of God of Prophecy; Nersido Borg, Assembly of God; Braulio Portes, Christianization; Pedro Choi, Korean Church; Georgy Reynoso, “Dios es Amor”; Lucy Cosme, Puertas de Bendicion; Ezequiel Molina, Mahanaim; Ramon Ortega, Nacion Santa; And also Mark William, General Overseer of the Church of God Intl. with all these leaders we prepared videos calling the churches to get involved the day of salvation, the G.O.D. The videos run around the web through YouTube, Facebook, twitters and WhatsApp reaching people and churches beyond our scope.

Both our national team and provincial coordinators, we developed evangelistic workshops trainings where more than 3000 pastors and leaders received training with the 3 Steps booklets and other presentation about Discipleship and Baptism. Other 2000 Booklets were given to pastor in order to train their local churches´ members for evangelism.

On Monday of May 23th at 7:00 p.m. in the Environmental Park of Nunez Avenue in the City of Santo Domingo, we had a launching service for the G.O.D. where the preacher was the Evangelist Sandra Sosa, the national director of evangelism and missions in the Church of God. More than 500 people were worshipping the Lord and receiving words of encouragement to get involved in the extension of God’s kingdom through the G.O.D. and on Friday 27th all our national team we were developing the prayer time in connection with Global Upper Room Day.

During the entire day of Saturday 28th, thousands and thousands believers were mobilized to share the gospel in many creative ways from doors to doors, visiting hospitals, jails, sharing in public places, giving breakfasts and foods, giving G.O.D.’s tracks and other evangelistic materials, and concluding the day with open air evangelistic services. The cities with more evangelical presence sharing the gospel were Santo Domingo DN, Santo Domingo Norte, Santo Domingo Este, San Pedro de Macoris, Bavaro-Higuey, Santiago, Mao-Valverde, Moca, San Francisco de Macoris, Nagua, San Cristobal, Haina, Bani, San Juan de la Maguana, Hato Mayor and Barahona.

In a populous area called Gualey in Santo Domingo, Pastor Ramon Rodriguez, began with his Church “Shalom Temple” at 6:00 a.m. in the morning to share the gospel in the neighborhood and concludes the journey at 9:00 p.m., after 44 evangelistic services at the same time in 44 places.

In Bani, Pastor Radhames Lachappelle of the Church “Casa de Restauracion” in the village called Las Marias went out to preach with a plan of every home for Christ in the Village, in an house they prayed for an old lady called Pura Hernandez, of 84 years old, who was sick. Pura made the decision for Christ that day and that same evening she passed away.

Samuel Medina Jimenez, was moved to a Village of the city of Moca Dominican Republic, as the new pastor in that community three months ago, as soon he arrived he organized a plan to reach out people for Christ with the G.O.D. in that same day a small church of about 60 people went out and about 100 people got saved. Praise God!!!

Pastor Alex Laguerre, in Church Community of Jesus Christ, in La Victoria was praying for conversions in his church, were for long time no one made decision for Christ. But that day was for him a miraculous day, because 21 people came to the Lord and since that moment we still in outreach day, He said. Pastor Alex visited the mother of one of the guys who made decision for Christ, that lady was a voodoo practitioner, the lady handed out to the pastor all the voodoo idols to be burned and she confessed that Jesus Christ is her Lord, Savior, Healer and Deliverer.

Maritza Olivo, was coordinating the G.O.D. for the provinces of Mao, but on Saturday 28th she could not go, because she was at hospital cause a diagnostic of a ovarian cyst, however as her phone number was in many tracks, she received at the hospital call phones from 5 people asking for prayer, making decision for Christ, telling to her that they had read the testimony of Nick and decided to serve to Lord as he is doing.

In San Juan de la Maguana, Francisco Confesor, a youth leader, coordinated the evangelistic effort in that province involving more than a 100 churches doing evangelism very early in the morning. With dances, pantomime and other artistic expressions, they delivered tracks during the day and shared the gospel one by one to many people. In more than ten communities they performed clean-up operations. At the evening they had an evangelistic concentration in which Confesor presented the message of salvation. More than 150 people made decision for Christ, the biggest harvest in his ministry. One of the new believers confessed being the leader of a juvenile offenders ‘band.

Pastor Evens Jean, organized the G.O.D. among Haitian immigrant leaving in the Dominican Republic, he started a new Haitian church with people who accepted Christ last year, in the G.O.D.2015. This year he involved six Haitian churches, he translated in a power point presentation the “Three Steps” Booklet to train pastors and leaders in creole. In his community he began the G.O.D.’s week sending a letter to the neighbors telling them that they will receive evangelistic visit at their home. In the morning of the G.O.D. they performed clean-up operations in the community, then at the afternoon the make haircuts operations and at the evening they went to visit home a place tracks. At the first house, Pastor Evens, the lady said to him Pastor you don´t have to preach me, you already clean the village and also cut my son hair, so now please pray for me I want your Jesus. Hallelujah!!!

They are many and many more testimonies. We hope of being able to mobilize our photographer to interview pastors, leaders and new believers to rise up more testimonies to share for God´s glory and encouragement of all who support this revival movement.
